Let’s be real for a second: did you ever feel unfashionable in red? No? Neither did I. Still, fashion has decided that red is now the hottest colour to wear. Ok, so why not dig out that red number you’ve had for a while and have some fun?
Unlike the burgundy versions we’ve seen for several seasons now, this version of red does take a bit of courage. After all, it is the colour of chili, hearts, roses and fire engines. Not for the faint of hearts in other words.
Me, I decided to give myself a challenge and see how it would feel to wear it head to toe, with a coat and tights in the same shade. Let me just say that as much as I felt the outfit cool and energizing on a grey day, I felt people’s eyes on me. Women for the most part. Not sure I was ok with that.
Interesting then, that the slogan of my Tee read what it did… Oh well. As much as I’d like one of those Dior T’s “we should all be feminists” from last season, I settled for this one from Lindex.
And btw: the trenchcoat is another item that I have reworked. I bought it secondhand a few seasons ago and found it a tad too big. So I nipped in the waist, which was quite a bit of work since there were a seam in the waist and four vertical double seams to do. Now it fits, and now it will swing from my shoulders a whole lot more. Fashion or not!
