Summer is humming its last verse these days. Thankfully the Oslo fall is a lot to look forward to. In the meantime though, there is the slightly awkward moment between summer and fall to navigate in terms of dressing. What to do? Personally I like to celebrate summer for as long as I can, so I lean towards dressing more in summer style even in late august. Yellow is great for both seasons though, especially when it comes in a warm mustardy color like the one I’m wearing here. Lace is lovely all year, but when the temperature drops the heavier versions are more natural.
My philosophy towards dressing, fashion and not least money spent on all that, is that one can and should get by without having a huge budget each month. If you think smartly about your buys, you really don’t have to spend a lot to feel fresh and updated. My outfit here is put together by items that are all bought previous seasons. All they have in common though is they are all quite timeless. The flare of these trousers go in and out of style, but in my closet I always keep some. I love the silhouette it creates so I don’t mind too much if it’s in fashion or not. The same goes for lace: it’s timeless. This belt is wide and having a moment now. In fashion or not – belts are great for changing the look of a garment, so they are good investments. When it comes to colors, you choice really should be according to your own colors and your mood.
Don’t let me, fashion or anyone else dictate what you like!
