And finally it is here. Christmas. How I adore it! The decorating, the meals, the dressing up, the parties, the family and friends! I think I never feel more blessed than during Christmas. The festive season is such an important time to take stock and remind yourself of all that is good in your life.
Of all my blessings, I count my children, husband, family and friends as my biggest treasures. And the fact that we are able to make the Christmas we are hoping and longing for. It is so not a given
Of course, decorating the tree – and oneself – are pretty important pieces in the puzzle that makes the Christmas what it is, too.
Personally I wouldn’t mind living at an English manor around Christmas time. Decorating in such surroundings would be a treat, right up my alley.
But I take to the task of decorating our place with great enthusiasm as well. I add some pieces every year, so by the time I’m sixty I guess our house will be in the full Christmas bloom I see with my inner eye.
I might share with you my table dressings for our New Years party. For now this will have to do. At Christmas Eve I was way too busy enjoying (and serving!) my family our Christmas meal.
It is only Boxing Day today. In my world Christmas lasts until 1st of January, so there is still much to look forward too. If that is not the case for you, I dearly hope you enjoyed your celebration.
