Who doesn’t love a wedding? I, for one, adore them. The bride, the setting, the wine’ing and dining and of course THE LOVE. And also the opportunity to dress up. In the wedding we attended on Saturday, the ceremony was early in the day and the reception quite a while later. The dress code was black-tie, but as my choice was a black, sweeping cocktail version of a dress it simply didn’t feel right to wear that for the church. So I opted for one of the few pastel colored dresses I have. I made sure to make it formal with my silver heels and sparkly earrings.
For the reception I wore a black dress. My sister a red number Many people would say that neither red nor black is allowed in a wedding. I say those are outdated rules that doesn’t apply any more. If you make an effort to stay with the rest of the codes that follows suit, smoking or black-tie accordingly and generally don’t try and outshine the bride, there is plenty of room for personal interpretations. My dress has a lovely 20s feel and follows well the formality that the black-tie suggested.
We had a wonderful time!
